Utah Fly Drive Destination
Moab

Moab is ideally situated as a centre for seeing both Arches and Canyonlands National Parks which
are both a few miles north of town. The town itself has all the amenities you would expect so close
to major tourist attractions but is unspoilt by it.
Something we found by accident is on the 128 north of town. The road travels alongside the Colorado
river and as you drive away from Moab you are driving upstream. However, because of the way the rock
layers in the canyon walls around you are angled, you are convinced that you are travelling
downhill and the river is flowing uphill. Its a very powerful optical illusion. Go see it. In this picture the Colorado river on the left is flowing towards you from right to left, but it looks like the road is going downhill.
