If Memphis is the home of Rock and Roll, then Nashville is the home of country music. The most famous venue being the Grand Ole Opry pictured to the left.
Of more modern vintage is the Country Music Hall of Fame opened in 2001 in Nashville. This shrine to country music features instruments, costumes, live performances, movie theatres, multi media displays and all the detail of country musics roots back to 1927.
For a taste of the old south, take a trip down the Cumberland River aboard the General Jackson (pictured to the right) - claimed to be the worlds largest paddle wheel showboat. You can go for morning, midday or evening cruises.
