Grand Junction was just a place along the way for us when we planned the route. However, we were very pleasantly surprised by the well laid out town centre with wide sidewalks and shading trees. Very enjoyable just to wander around.

The reason most people will come to Grand Junction is to visit nearby Colorado National Monument. Absolutely spectacular unless you've just seen nearby Canyonlands and Arches National Parks, in which case its a little bit 'more of the same'. If you plan to see all of these attractions, see the Colorado Nat Mon first.
