Chattanooga is an excellent place to stay for a few days. Surrounding the city are important Civil War battle sites at Chickamauga, Lookout Mountain and Missionary Ridge. Tennessee was split by the war with some of the people allying themselves to the Confederates and others with the Union side.

There is more than that though with the Tennessee Aquarium, Rock City and Ruby Falls to visit. An incline railway up Lookout Mountain, Caverns and much more.

Of course there is also the Cattanooga Choo Choo. Famed in song it is now a hotel complex with rail cars you can sleep in and a model railway museum.
