Oregon Fly Drive Destination
Cave Junction
If you have read many of the place descriptions on this web site you may understand what I mean when I say this is a typical western town of the type I have come to love visiting. The one wide main street with the town strung out along the side. One day, I promise myself, I'll come to live in a place like this.
Cave Junction is so named because it sits atride the junction where you turn off highway 199 onto highway 46 to get to the Oregon Caves National Monument. A hundred yards or so up the 46 towards the caves is a visitor centre for the area and the caves. Well worth stopping at and browsing around.
