Silverton sits at the southern end of the Million Dollar highway between itself and Ouray and at the northern end of the Durango to Silverton Narrow Gauge Railway. There are two main roads running parallel to each other. The picture to the right is the main one of the two.






Its a very picturesque town and the trains that come in and out up the middle of a street perpendicular to the lesser of the two roads are a 'must see'. In the picture to the left, a train is just pulling into the town and one waiting to depart for Durango has been turned around and stands waiting on the left.
