Arizona Fly Drive Destination
Holbrook and Winslow
Holbrook and Winslow are similar none descript towns on the main Interstate 40 that cuts across
Northern Arizona. Both are resonable well placed to form a base from which to see the
Petrified Forest, the Painted Desert and in the other direction,
Meteor Crater. We had childlike pleasure
singing along with the Eagles in the car about Winslow Arizona.(..standin' on a corner in
Winslow, Arizona...such a mighty fine sight to see...its a girl my
lord in a flatbed Ford slowin' down to take a look at me..take it
easy...)
Historic route 66 (Get your kicks on route 66) runs through here and this picture shows the wigwam motel, famous from that era. It is a very strange feeling to be visiting the inspiration for well loved songs.
