 Welcome to this rare limited edition collectors copy of the very first www.uk-2-usa.com newsletter. The purpose of this newsletter is to update you about changes to the uk-2-usa.com website and its content. Any USA travel news that I come across which I consider interesting or useful will also be included.

This is a new venture and any feedback will be gratefully received about style or content. This newsletter will be produced monthly and will be available via e-mail, on the web site or via the associated online uk-2-usa group

Web site news

Well the biggests news recently has got to be the domain name change. I ran the web site as a free Geocities site for 12 months with the address
http://www.geocities.com/uk_2_usa.com/Flydrive.html I was suffering increasing web site unavailability due to exceeding the allowable data transfer rate as the web site became more and more popular. In September 2002 I plunged in and purchased the
http://www.uk-2-usa.com domain name. The intrusive adverts on Geocities are gone and I have a much bigger disc space allocation and data transfer rate. You can still access the site via the old address and get re-directed automatically.

I have added a site index page along with a site search engine to help site visitors find the content they need.

I have also added a what is new page which will be an index to back editions of this newsletter.

The other significant recent changes on the site are as a result of me starting to update the content with information based on this years holiday we took in the USA.
The route of this years trip is given with this link. In brief we did Las Vegas, Northern California (Lassen Volcanic and Redwood National Parks), Southern Oregon (Crater Lake National Park - wow !), the wine country (Sonoma and Napa valleys) and Disneyland Anahiem.

A new State page for Oregon has been created. There is more to add to this page later.

I still have loads more information to post on the web site, but the change in the domain name, the subsequent re-formatting and getting this newsletter going, have consumed my spare time up until now. I expect to have this years holiday experiences noted by the end of December.
