We stopped at Wall because it was close to the badlands. However, we were delighted we did. Wall is a small town surrounding one main street, but we discovered it is home to the "world famous" Wall Drug Store.
This is remarkable institution and seems to take over one whole side of the main street. It seems to sell everything you could want, it has its own kids play area and a fake T Rex that terrified out four year olds! Apparently in the 2nd world war, American Troops used to post signs at the side of roads in europe pointing home and saying how many miles it was to Wall Drug from that point.
Wall is very well situated close to the Badlands and within easy striking distance of the Black Hills.
