California Fly Drive Destination
Willits
Willits is around 130 miles north of San Francisco on highway 101 about 35 miles inland from Fort Bragg. Willits was not on our original itinerary, but we fled there to escape the cold and fog at Fort Bragg. It was a good choice, blazing hot and a very pleasant little town.
The main reason most people will visit Willits is that its the eastern terminus for the Skunk Train that travels through the mountains between Willits and Fort Bragg. If it suits your journey plans, Willits is a nice town in which to overnight with a reasonable choice of places to stay and eat and shop. E-mail me with any questions
